most iconic river of slovenia

We’ve all heard of the legendary Soča River, famous for its crystal-clear emerald waters and breathtaking mountain landscapes in the heart of Slovenia.

In this kayak camp, we’ll dive into exploring the Soča River and its tributaries, discovering its most iconic stretches, paddling through world-class rapids, and connecting with the local culture for an authentic and unforgettable experience.

.

LOCATION

We will be based in Bovec, small village near the river with amazing views and places to enjoy the slovenian culture

DATES

June and July

ITINERARY

Airport pick up (Venice or Ljubljana). Know the crew, prepare your gear and meeting about the upcoming days!

On our first day paddling the Soča we will recognize different sections and enjoy the scenery of the upper parts of the river.  Warm up and enjoy the pristine colour of the river.

Depending on the group’s level, we’ll head to the kortinika river. One of the main tributaries of the Soča. Great whitewater class III with a tight and spectacular canyon.

We continue paddling sections of the Soča river. This section will be amazing to prepare the crew for more challenging sections the next days.

On day five, we’ll see a short but intense section before our biggest goal of the trip. This section of Trnovo will provide us a good slalom course and practice how to move as a team in the river.

almost at the end of our camp, Otona section will give us a bit of “high water” boulder garden taste in a longer class III/III+ section.

Depending on water levels and group skills. We will jump into the hardest section of the Soča river, the Cataract section.

Class IV/IV+ boulder garden to enjoy our last day of paddling!

ADDITIONAL INFO

The rivers in this program are Class III/IV. If your level isn’t quite there, we can adjust the difficulty. If you’re confident on Class III/IV, we can also include harder sections. The trip is flexible based on group needs.

There are slalom courses available at some points to improve paddling and safety techniques if we want a more relaxed afternoon.

Since this is a nature-based sport, river levels may vary. We’ll adapt to flows and weather to minimize surprises as much as possible.
